Location

The Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg is the University of the two cities Erlangen and Nuremberg. The Division of Developmental Biology is located in the south-east corner of Erlangen in a building block called Biologikum (Department Biologie). You will find our rooms in Building A2 on the 2nd floor (Level 01). Our institute can be reached by car, train or airplane.

Coming by car

Coming to Erlangen by car on the  Autobahn A3 (E3) , use the exit   Tennenlohe (exit number 84)  and proceed towards Erlangen on the   Äußere Nürnbergerstraße . Take the exit after the third bridge and follow the sign   Universität Südgelände  on the   Kurt-Schuhmacher-Straße  . Turn left at the first traffic light and you will find the signs to the different parts of the   Biologikum  and the  Physikum .

Coming by train

Erlangen can be reached easily by train. You may check the train schedule using the railway server of the Deutsche Bahn AG. Most visitors will come to Erlangen via Nuremberg. From Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof (Nuremberg Central Station) trains with destination Erlangen depart at least once or twice every hour. The trip from Nuremberg to Erlangen takes about 15 to 20 minutes. You can take a taxi from the Erlangen Train Station to the Biologikum (about 15 min / about 15 Euros) or use the Public Transportation System (Bus lines 287 and 293) towards Sebaldussiedlung (last bus stop). From this bus station the Biologikum can be seen in the forest. The department of Developmental Biology is reached within 1 minute.

Coming by plane

You will arrive at the Nuremberg International Airport, which is about 15 km from the city center of Erlangen. The Biologikum can be reached from the airport within 15 to 20 minutes by TAXI. The fare will be about 15 Euros.
